Sandside Drive
The Brief
A large L-shaped plot completely overlooked by a main road, needed transforming into a private,
tranquil outdoor living space.
The Solution
All traces of the original garden were removed, leaving a blank canvas.
Wooden pergolas were added in three separate areas to act as screens to create privacy.
These structures were connected by a path paved with Indian sandstone. This main path encouraged passage to an area of the garden previously unused, into which a large pond was incorporated. The pond was designed part-above and part-below ground to keep fish such as Koi, which require deep water, and a large surface area.
A picket fence backed with an assortment of large, flowering shrubs was added to soften road noise, act as a boundary hedge, and create a haven of peace and tranquility.
