Ivy Cottage
The Brief
To turn a large garden which had been recalimed from a field into an impressive
country style garden.
The Solution
The scale of the garden meant that two individually styled areas could be created. These were linked
using avenues, vistas, and continuity of construction materials. This involved considerable
planning, levelling, and excavation.
Main garden features include; a large canal, combined with a classical water feature; a Ha-ha which provides an uninterupted view into the countryside beyond, via an avenue of trees; a new beech hedge, to mirror an existing hedge on the opposite side of the canal; and a lower cirular terraced area, leading up traditional steps to a wooden palladian styled temple.
